Companies with Worst Customer Response Rate
The CFPB tracks whether companies respond to consumer complaints within the agency's tracked window. A company's timely response rate is the percentage of complaints they responded to in time. This ranking surfaces the 50 companies (filtered to those with ≥100 total complaints to exclude noise) with the LOWEST timely response rate. Low rates indicate operational delays in customer-complaint handling.Source: CFPB Consumer Complaint Database, https://www.consumerfinance.gov/data-research/consumer-complaints/

Methodology
Timely response percentages are pre-computed from the CFPB raw complaint dataset by the PlainCredit ETL pipeline and rendered live from the companies table at SSR time. CFPB classifies responses as "timely" when received within their tracked SLA window. Companies with fewer than 100 total complaints are excluded to reduce noise from small samples.Source: CFPB Consumer Complaint Database, https://www.consumerfinance.gov/data-research/consumer-complaints/
Caveats and Limitations
Timely response measures procedural compliance, not response quality or complaint resolution. A company can respond timely but unhelpfully, or late but substantively. Some companies dispute the CFPB's classification methodology. Mortgage servicers and debt collectors are over-represented in low-response-rate rankings, reflecting industry-specific patterns rather than universal company quality.
